Registrations
Minimum age for events
Half Marathon age = 16 years + on race day
10K age = *12 years + on race day
5.5K age = *8 years + on race day
*Under this age group must accompanied by an adult.
Names on bibs
If you register for the event before 11:59pm Thursday 8 May 2025, your first name will be printed on your race bib. Note: you must select postage.
I have a toddler, do they have to pay?
Children under four years of age are not required to pay the entry fee, however for safety and insurance reasons you will be required to provide details in the registration process.
When do registrations close?
Super Early Bird Entries End at 11:59pm Thursday, 5 December 2024.
Early Bird Entries End at 11:59pm Thursday, 6 March 2025.
Standard Entries End 11:59pm Thursday, 22 May 2025.
Last Minute/Online Entries End 30 minutes before each race starts on 13 July 2025.
No portion of the entry fee will be donated to charity. Entry fees are used to cover the cost of staging the event.

I can no longer participate – what are my options?
1. Withdrawal from the event: Withdrawals receive a credit note if they are made before 5:00pm, Friday 13 June 2025. After this date, no credit notes will be issued. Credit notes are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing and valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Refunds will not be issued. When an entrant registers, they agree to the below terms and conditions*.
- Change of distance/Downgrade from your race: Change of distances and Event downgrades can be made online up until Thursday, 10 July 2025. Use this link.
Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.
Please note: Any changes to your registration (name, distance, postage) will incur a $10 administration fee.
*T&Cs: I agree that there are no refunds, however, I may request an event credit for other Sole Motive owned events (minus $10 for admin fees) no later than 13 June 2025. After this date, no event credits will be issued. Event credits will not be issued when downgrading distances. Event credits will be valid for Sole Motive owned events and cannot be used for contracted events. Event credits are valid for 1 year from the date of issuing. Please note: if you have entered with an event credit we are not able to issue another event credit.
I’ve already registered but I want to join a team
If you wish to join a team, you can do through your registration link.
I accidentally entered the wrong details on my registration – how do I fix this?
- If you need to update your details you can do so via Race Roster.
I have lost or never received my confirmation email, can I have it resent?
Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folder for your confirmation email (e-ticket). If you can still not locate it, you can log via Race Roster and choose to resend your registration email.
Can my friend take my entry if I can no longer participate?
Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new participant – this will incur a $10 transfer fee. Name Transfers end 11:59pm June 30. Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend.
Can I register at the event?
You can register on race weekend from Saturday 12 July through to Sunday, 13 July. More details to come.
How do I upgrade/downgrade my race?
Yes, please click here and follow the prompts to Transfer to a new sub event.
Distance changes end 11:59pm Friday July 11.
Refunds/credit notes cannot be issued for the difference in entry fee (if any) when downgrading your distance.
Name Transfers will not be permitted on event weekend.
Please note - if you already have your race bib please email runmelbourne@solemotive.com with your distance change request.
Merchandise
How do I purchase the official merchandise?
You can purchase the official Run Melbourne 2025 merchandise through the registration portal when you register. If you have already registered, you can log in to your existing registration and add it now.
Please note that sizes will not be restocked once they have sold out.
When will I get my merchandise?
Orders before 27 June: If you order before 27 June, we will post your merch at no cost. (Important: merchandise will be posted out from mid-June.)
Orders on or after 27 June: Collect from the Sole Motive Race Ready Merchandise store at the event village on race weekend. Hours: 8am-4pm on Saturday 12 July or from 5.45am Sunday 13 July.

Race bib postage ends 11:59pm, 26 June 2025.
*Optional race bib postage fee of $8.95, or free collection from:
- Sole Motive stores (see below for race bib collection)
- Event site on race weekend
Race bib collection
Your Run Melbourne Race Bib will be available for collection from 12.00PM midday June 23 until 5pm Thursday, July 10 from either of the below locations:
- Sole Motive Store Hawthorn (793 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn)
- Sole Motive CBD store (148 Little Collins Street, CBD)
*Don't forget that as a Run Melbourne entrant, you get 15% off in store until August 30.
Where can I collect my Race Bib on Race Weekend?
If you can’t pick up your Race Bib from one of the Sole Motive Stores you can collect it on Saturday 12 July from 8am-4pm at Melbourne Park Oval, Melbourne Olympic Park.
Please note that there will be no Race Bib collection on race day, Sunday 13 July 2025.

How do I get to the event?
We strongly recommend catching public transport to and from the event. Half Marathon runners may have access to public transport using the night network to get to the event. Visit the PTV Night Network website, or plan your trip here.
Please refer to the how to get there information above for more information.
If you are using your GPS on your phone, the address to put in is Grand Slam Oval (Melbourne Park Oval), 20 Olympic Boulevard.
Road Closures
Road closure information will be released closer to the event.
Car Parking Do’s and Don’ts
Car parking is extremely limited. We strongly recommend you use public transport to get to the event. If you’re driving please plan your route and parking location prior to the event.
If you are planning on driving, see the below information:
Parking available Saturday and Sunday:
M&OP: Access through Gate D, note there is a charge. See pricing or book: https://prebook.mopt.vic.gov.au/
Saturday: Free parking available in Boathouse Drive. Paid parking is available in Alexandra Ave. There are no road closures in place.
Sunday: There will be a number of road closures in place. More info will be released closer to the event.
Paid Car Parks available:
- Arts Centre – access from Sturt Street (the GPS address is 4 Sturt Street, Southbank)
- Federation Square Carpark – access via Russell St Extension.
- City Carparks
Bike parking is available at the entrance of M&OP on Olympic Boulevard. Please bring a lock and secure it.
Bag drop information
Bag drop is available at Melbourne Park Oval. Please do not leave valuables in your bag. Run Melbourne accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Attach the tear-off strip on the bottom of your race bib to your bag.
Keep your race bib so that you can collect your bag post-event.
Please note, no single-use plastics.
Medals
All participants will receive a branded Run Melbourne medal for their chosen distance.
MiTime can be ordered via your registration. These will be posted to you 2-3 weeks after the event.

Will there be pacers at the event?
Yes! Sole Motive are fortunate to have experienced runners that will pace you to come in around your goal time.
For ease of visibility, they will be in an ASICS colourful t-shirt with the pace on their bib on their back and a flag above their head.
Please see the table below on the paces that are available and where the pacers can be found at the start line.
They will start their watches and pace you once you have crossed the start line – this is known as net time.

How do I apply to become a pacer?
If you want to be a pacer you need to be comfortable running the pace you are pacing for.

Is there live tracking?
Yes! A link to the live tracking site will be available closer to the event.
On Course
Start line & waves
Wave Start Zones will be indicated by coloured feathers in place at the start line to ensure a smooth start for all participants. Entrants are asked to assemble in the appropriate zone as indicated by the letter printed on their race bib. More information regarding Wave Starts will be communicated closer to the event.
What are the course cut-off times?
Start line closes for all events 10:40am. Refer to event pages for race cut off time.

Can I run with headphones?
We strongly discourage the use of headphones on the course. If you do choose to use headphones while running, please ensure that you are still able to hear what is happening around you.
Can I have a supporter ride a bike next to me?
No personal support riders or bike riders within the vicinity of runners are permitted on course. It is the responsibility of each athlete while running to ensure that no bikes are on the course near the runners. Any transgression will result in disqualification from the event.
Can I fly a personal drone on course?
The use of any type of drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is prohibited at the Event. Any person using a drone or UAV may be disqualified from the Event.
Can I run with a pram?
Prams are permitted in all events – please start at the back of your wave for safety reasons.
Can I run as a support person for someone who needs assistance?
If you are running to lend a helping hand to someone who is unable to run without you, then please contact Sole Motive on (03) 9285 0600 or runmelbourne@solemotive.com.
Can I run with my dog?
All animals are strictly prohibited from entering any part of the course at any time. However, they are welcome on a leash in the event village.
Results
How will I be timed on day?
All runners in the Half-Marathon, the 10k and 5.5k races will be timed. If you wish to receive a finishing time all Run Melbourne participants must wear their RACE BIB. Your Race Bib contains a disposable timing chip, if you don’t wear your bib, you won’t receive an official time.
Please wear your race bib on the front of your top and ensure it is visible.
Where can I find my results?
Live results will be available online from https://runmelbourne.com.au/
Participants who have nominated to receive SMS results and have paid an additional $2.50 will receive their results SMS on the evening of the event, and finishers will receive a certificate via email.
What is net time?
Net time is the time the participant crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. This is how results are displayed on the website, and will be used to award aged category places. These times are for participant information only and are not used to determine place getters. Placegetters are determined by gun time – the first three male and females across the finish line.
Trophies/Prizes
Top 3 male and female overall winners will receive a trophy and prize (TBC). Winners are presented off gun time, you must be in the priority wave to be eligible.
